For the top four I made the T in Tom look like a branch, since Topiary has to do with shaping bushes. With different fonts for topiary. Then the bottom three were bushes with the same Tom's Topiary from above and then one without the T looking kind of like a branch.
I think that the top should be more obvious that it is a branch. And on the bottom, maybe see how it looks with just one bush, or try mixing up the font.
ReplyDeleteMaybe change some colors and make it look more like a bush, but I like the idea and thought behind it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe ad more detail to your trees because I for sure thought that it looked like cotton candy. And maybe two trees aren't need maybe put tom's inside the tree and topiary off to the side? play with layout but also keep it simple.
ReplyDeleteThe logos go with the your business and I like the second one the best. Something that would be cool is putting Tom's Topiary in the shape of a bush.
ReplyDeleteFonts are nice and the symbols fit the business. but the leaves on the tree are not really tree pattern like.
ReplyDeleteThe fonts are a little bit ominous. Maybe try to use a more nature looking font to make the viewer understand what the logo is.
ReplyDeleteOK - I feel a little guilty (but just a little) giving you this one - it has turned out to be a tough one. It's a quandary, because like the comments have said so far, you need more detail to tell what things are, but then I think you are reaching a point where it will just get too much cluttery detail for a logo. And a silhouette of a shrub starts to look sort of blob-ish... What if you imagine a solid hedge (black rectangle) and then with your hedge trimmers you cut out the places needed to form the letter's TOM'S in kind of a thick block-but-rounded simple font? The letters would all be connected still. In illustrator, instead of actually cutting, you could mask the black rectangle with white shapes of the cutouts.
ReplyDeleteI like the bottom middle logo the best. Something you could try is adding a pair of hedge trimmers somewhere on there, so people know it's a bush shaping business
ReplyDeleteI think that the type is going to be hard to pull of because I am not sure what you could do that would make it really scream Topiary. I like what you are going with the shrubbery if you can get enough detail without it being too busy.
ReplyDeleteI love the tree design, but I'm not necessarily into the font. Also there is so much going on, even though there isn't that much there. The layered trees look nice, but as a logo it just needs to be one or a sculpted bush would look good too.
